We know that many people feel some anxiety about the COVID-19 respiratory virus. It is important to note that Public Health continues to assure that the risk of acquiring the virus in Ontario remains low. Although the risk is low, Public Health has also advised the general public to prepare for the possible spread of the virus within communities. 105 Gibson Centre has taken extra precautions steps in protecting our users as following:
a. Strengthen sanitization and cleanliness of public touch surfaces, specially handrails, door knobs and counters.
b. More ALERT posters are posted at the Centre entrances to stop visitors who are not feeling well from entering the Centre.
c. Cancelled or deferred programs and activities that do not require registration.
We encourage all visitors to continue reinforcing the important preventive measures during cold and influenza season including:
a. PRACTICE hand hygiene upon entry and exit of the Centre.
b. Anyone with fever OR cough OR difficulty breathing AND who have travelled outside Canada: DO NOT make contact with others and follow-up with your health care professional.
c. Anyone who has travelled to Hubei province, China, or Iran in the last 14 days, limit contact with others by self-isolation and staying at home for a total of 14 days.
d. PROTECT SELF and OTHERS:
a. Wash your hands often.
b. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
c. Avoid contact with people who are sick.
d. Stay home when you are ill.
e. Practice proper cough and sneeze etiquette.
