How to Join?

Online:

  • Click this link to start your registration.
  • Follow the instructions to set up your personal fundraising page.
  • Share your unique campaign link to collect donations online.
  • Your name will be displayed on the online donation page.

In-person:

  • Visit 105 Gibson Centre.
  • Fill out a registration form and receive a pledge form and donation envelope.
  • Bring the completed pledge form, donation envelope, and all collected funds back on event day.

How to Fundraise?

Online Donations

  • Set up your personal fundraising page when you register online.
  • Share your unique campaign link with family and friends via email, social media, or messaging apps.
  • Supporters can donate instantly using their credit card.
  • Tax receipts are issued immediately upon successful donation.

Cash & Cheque Donations

  • Use your pledge form to track all cash and cheque donations.
  • Cheques should be made payable to 105 Gibson Centre.
  • Collect donations and submit your completed pledge form and funds at the Centre on event day.
  • Tax receipts for cash and cheque donations will be issued after the event.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Participants aged 16 and above must register. They may bring children under 16, but incentive gifts will not be provided to unregistered participants.
  2. Registrations after April 17 will receive a randomly assigned T-shirt size.
  3. Certificates will only be presented after the walk on the event day.
  4. 105 Gibson Centre reserves the right to modify or cancel any part of this offer.

What are the ways that we can participate in this event?

There are different means of participation: a) participate in the walkathon and invite your family, and friends to support you; b) donate money to support a friend or a team

Can I collect both cash and online donations?

Yes! You can fundraise using both methods. Any online donations made through your personal fundraising page will be processed automatically, and tax receipts will be issued immediately. For cash and cheque donations, use your pledge form to track contributions, then bring the completed form and funds in your donation envelope to 105 Gibson Centre on event day. Tax receipts for cash and cheque donations will be issued after the event.

How can supporters donate towards my walk?

For ONLINE donations: Your supporters can click go to this link to donate. It will take them to the online donation page. They can select your name from the list of walkers and complete the remaining portion of the form to make a safe online donation.

For cash/cheque donations: Your supporters can complete the details on the pledge form along with the donation. Please write the cheques payable to 105 Gibson Centre. Please bring your pledge form(s) and cash/cheque donation to registration on event day. The Centre office will have a record of the online donation.

How do the funds raised make a difference?

Your support helps provide essential services for those in need. Here’s how your contributions can make an impact:

  • $100 – Covers one week of summer camp for a child.
  • $300 – Helps feed a family of four for a week.
  • $1,200 – Provides a year of medication and basic medical needs for a refugee.
  • $2,000 – Aids a qualifying student to pursue higher education through our Scholarships and Bursaries initiative.

What is the route for this year’s walkathon?

This year’s Walkathon will kick off at 105 Gibson Centre. From there, we’ll head to Good Shepherd Community Church (390 Bamburgh Circle), then loop around Bamburgh Circle before returning to the Centre to complete the walk.

What should I wear?

We encourage all registered participants to wear the official 105GC Walkathon t-shirt, which will be given out on the event day. Do wear comfortable footwear and bring along clothing suitable for the outdoors, and be sure to bring your own reusable water bottles.

Any food and drinks provided?

Some light refreshment will be provided after participants return to the Centre from the walk. 

Will I get a tax receipt for my donation?

Tax receipt will be issued to anyone who has made a donation.
