105 Gibson Centre started in 2010 when the Toronto Christian Community Church (TCCC) purchased the 47,000 sq. feet warehouse next door to the church. After many prayers over a period of time, the church leaders received a vision from God to build a Christian faith based community centre, and make it a platform for holistic outreach and social concern. The challenge Jesus gives his church is to ask her to be salt and light of this world, and then people would glorify the Heavenly Father when they see the church’s good deeds. Micah 6: 8 “Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.” Jesus had a special concern for the poor and commanded us to preach the gospel to the poor (Luke 4: 18). Hence, the mission statement of the Centre is: To serve the locals and those in need, and to share with them the compassion and hope of Jesus.
