Disentangle Workshop Jul – Aug

The DISENTANGLE Workshop Series

Dates: July 28, Aug 4, Aug 11, Aug 18, Aug 25, 2017 (Friday)
Time:  3:00 – 5:00 pm
Venue: Room 102, 105 Gibson Centre
Registration Deadline: Monday July 24, 2017

On 5 consecutive Fridays, this interactive workshop engages in experimental forms and invites participants to disentangle symbols and assumptions in and around our culture, in which our identities are informed. Each week, we will explore themes in and about our urban society, our interpersonal relationships, and our very selves through creative expressions, especially the literary arts (prose and poetries).

Participants are not required to have previous experiences and knowledge with literature. The workshop will host a total of 1 facilitator and 5 participants at max.

Although it is most encouraged that participants come to all 5 sessions of the workshop in order to maximize enjoyment from the experience, participants are welcomed to join only part of the series. Also, we invite artists of different talents (visual arts, music, etc) to join the workshop to maximize experimental possibilities.

Getting Connected in a Disconnected World

FREE admission!  All are welcome!

We live in a digitalized era where we connect with the world through online platforms and social media. In light of our career path finding, do we know who we are in order to engage ourselves in areas where we can shine? In relationship building, is our identity based on our true selves, or who we make ourselves to be online? How can we re-connect with who we really are so that we can begin to make genuine connections with the world?

Speaker:  Kevin Lee
Venue:     DaSpace, 105 Gibson Centre

Date:       Sunday July 16, 2017
Time:      2 – 4 pm
